"The recipe for [true] beauty is to have less illusion and more soul, to retreat from the belief of pain or pleasure in the body into the unchanging calm and glorious freedom of spiritual harmony." --Mary Baker Eddy

Cuts and Color

Brit is possibly the sweetest person I know.  No lie.  We took her hair really short this time--she looked so dang good!  I wish I had taken a before picture so you could see the drastic change, but I was a slacker!  Next time.

Check out this handsome man!  This is my baby brother--that's right!  I am responsible for the cut, but he has a special "fluffing" technique for styling his hair.  I'm not exactly sure how he does it, but basically he rubs his palm on his forehead and poof!  If you want the real recipe for his good looks, you'll have to talk to him (or my mom and dad).

Meet Di!  This girl is one of the most loyal friends you will ever find. Plus, she is the winner for thickest mop!  Seriously, after giving her a haircut it looks like a cat died below the chair.  Ha ha.  We do a fair amount of thinning every time--and it grows right back.  I don't get it.  This time we gave her bangs...she actually had bangs already, but they were waaay grown out (she's a rule breaker too).  And yes, this is her natural color!  Do you hate her for it?  I'm just a little jealous, that's all.  She is a beautiful girl.  One last plug-in (to all the single guys)...she has a slight southern accent, she is a dream come true in the kitchen, and she can dance like a machine.  Just sayin'.

This is my sister MJ (above left).  It doesn't matter what she does to her hair, she always looks good--she's just plain hot!  She is a natural blond.  This photo was taken on her journey from dark brown back to blond.  We cut her hair with a razor to shatter her ends and give her a more textured look.  Did I mention that she is super fun?  Well, she is.  Check her out as a dark brunette below (w/ hidden highlights).

Carrie is one of my favorite people.  It's true.  I have a ton of fun doing her hair!  We are high school friends and every few months we get to rekindle our high school memories while she sits in my "beauty chair."  We recall memories like...when we strategically took floral design (easiest class on the planet) with a bunch of masculine, hot guys.  It usually takes longer than normal to do her hair because we do an awful lot of talking...and laughing.  It's therapeutic really.  Carrie is one of the funniest people I know.  In fact, she is one of the only people that when she cusses, I laugh.  Do you know those kind of people?  They add a little zest to life!  Lucky me to have her as a friend.  We do an all-over color on her hair--with subtle highlights to add to the sass!  Then we cut her hair into a sharp, disconnected, asymmetrical a-line and voila!  Next time (with her consent) I hope to do a block color!  I bet she will be up for it, but I will keep you posted.  Hubba hubba.  That's all I have to say.
